About
Each year, the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit awards a limited number of UKRI/MRC studentships on a competitive basis to eligible students. The studentship pays for Cambridge University and College fees and each student receives a stipend of £21,122 per annum. This stipend consists of the basic £18,622 per annum provided by the UKRI/MRC, plus an additional payment of £2,500 per annum from the Unit's funds. The PhD studentships are awarded for three years of study and payment of the stipend can be extended to four years maximum, subject to satisfactory progress.
Eligibility:
Students who either are UK nationals or have established UK residency are eligible for the award of a full UKRI/MRC studentship.
Overseas (including EU) students can be considered for a limited number of UKRI/MRC International Bursaries.
