About

One scholarship has been made available in memory of alumnus Nicky Koster in support of candidates working to make positive social change, particularly in underprivileged communities in South Africa. 

The award is split as follows: £9,000 payable against the fees in year one and £9,000 payable against the fees in year two.

This scholarship is open to candidates either located in or working in South Africa.

Potential to impact own organisation and beyond (as a result of social innovation studies).

The successful applicant will be expected to play an active part in the promotion of the MSt in Social Innovation programme to future applicants in South Africa.

Candidates must have received an offer to join the MSt in Social Innovation programme in Michaelmas Term before they can be considered for the studentship.

Application Process

Eligible applicants will be provided with an application form in May time in order to submit an expression of interest explaining:

  • how the masters programme will benefit their organisation (i.e. describe a change project of social innovation nature) or their social innovation business idea,
  • how they may be able to have an impact beyond their own organisation,
  • and how they will be able to promote the MSt in Social Innovation to future applicants in South Africa.

Key dates

Eligible applicants will be sent a link to an online form (to apply for the scholarship) after an official offer to join the the MSt in Social Innovation in Michaelmas Term has been made. The application deadline is expected to be in June 2027.
