About

The Saïd Foundation Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters applicants from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine. Candidates should hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and permanently reside in one of these countries (please see eligibility criteria for further residence conditions).

The scholarship is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and in any subject excluding premium rate courses.

Offered in partnership with the Saïd Foundation.

Please note, you must apply via an external application to the funding partner as well as opting into this fund in the funding section of the Cambridge admissions application in order to be considered.

Candidates should:

  • Hold Syrian, Jordanian, Lebanese or Palestinian nationality and permanently reside in one of these countries:
  • Syrians residing elsewhere due to current circumstances in that country will be considered.
  • For candidates from Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, we expect you to be normally resident in one of these four listed countries but accept applications from candidates based in other countries temporarily for work/study purposes.
  • Applications from those who were previously resident in Gaza but have been displaced to another country are also accepted.
  • Have work and/or voluntary experience that is relevant to their field of study and a clear career path.
  • Have a first class or high second class honours degree or its equivalent from a recognised university.

Key dates

To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must: 1) check with the Saïd Foundation the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly; and 2) apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory).

The Trust’s awarding period runs from the middle of February to the end of July and is an ongoing process throughout that period. Most of our awards are made early during the months of February and March, but some of our partner funded awards involve additional processes such as interviews, which means funding decisions tend to be later from April to June. Although we cannot provide funding updates for individual applicants, the Trust will confirm on our website once we have finished issuing offers for our main scholarship programmes. Throughout the awarding period the Trust will be reallocating awards that have not been taken up. Therefore, all applicants will remain under consideration for any reallocated award for which they are eligible until the end of July. If you have not been contacted by the Trust by the end of July, you should assume that your funding application has not been successful.
