About

The Jesus College Sheldrick Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding PhD applicant in Chemistry. The successful recipient of this fully-funded award will be chosen by the Yusef Hamied Department of Chemistry in conjunction with Jesus College. The recipient must have recently completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Chemistry at a German University. The scholarship is possible due to a generous donation made in 2015 by Mr John Sheldrick to Jesus College.

The maintenance portion of the scholarship aligns with the UKRI National Minimum Doctoral Stipend, which is updated annually reflected in the variable award value. This is, however, a fully-funded scholarship.

Academic merit

The recipient of this award must be a confirmed member of Jesus College and understand that Jesus College may use information about the recipient to publicise their success in a variety of media, including but not restricted to, the Jesus College website and other publications. Jesus College will not make my personal contact details public. The recipient must also agree to complete an annual report during Easter term when prompted by the Development and Alumni Relations Office at Jesus College, which will be shared with the donor who provided the funding for this award.
