About

This fund has been awarded and is no longer available for students starting in 2025/26. This award is for students who are French, or from the French territories or studying at a French University, and who are applying for a PhD in any research area. This award is funded thanks to the generosity of Capital Fund Management, with top-up funding from another funding body, expected to be the Cambridge Trust. Preference will be given to applicants who list Corpus Christi as their College preference. You will be expected to transfer to Corpus Christi to take up this award if you have an offer from another college. You will need to answer additional questions in the funding section of your admissions application to apply for this award.

The scholarship will cover the costs of one economy single ticket (plane or train) at both the beginning and end of the course. It will also cover up to £500 each year to attend conferences and courses.

Any additional maintenance support (up to a maximum of 6 months) will need to be applied for from CFM and will be dependent on satisfactory progress and reports from supervisors.

Academic merit

Recipients will be invited to the annual CFM Foundation Day in France, at which they will be asked to provide a report on their research and their University of Cambridge experience, and deliver a talk on their research to the Trustees of the Foundation, and other CFM scholarship students.
