About

The Beit Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters applicants normally resident in Zambia, Zimbabwe or Malawi. The scholarship is tenable at any College and in any subject excluding premium rate courses.

Offered in partnership with The Beit Trust.

Please note, you must apply via an external application to the funding partner as well as opting into this fund in the funding section of the Cambridge admissions application in order to be considered.

  • Airfare: An economy airfare to the UK, and an economy airfare from the UK to the student's country of residence, by the lowest cost available route.

  • Applicants must meet the Beit Trust's eligibility requirements. 
  • Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to at least a good undergraduate degree from a recognised university.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who already have some work experience. 
  • Employees or employees' relatives of the Beit Trust or the University of Cambridge (or former employees who have left employment less than 2 years before) will not be eligible to apply for these awards.

Key dates

To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must: 1) apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory) and get a conditional offer of admission; and 2) check with the Beit Trust the funding call deadlines and details of the application process, and apply accordingly.

The Trust’s awarding period runs from the middle of February to the end of July and is an ongoing process throughout that period. Most of our awards are made early during the months of February and March, but some of our partner funded awards involve additional processes such as interviews, which means funding decisions tend to be later from April to June. Although we cannot provide funding updates for individual applicants, the Trust will confirm on our website once we have finished issuing offers for our main scholarship programmes. Throughout the awarding period the Trust will be reallocating awards that have not been taken up. Therefore, all applicants will remain under consideration for any reallocated award for which they are eligible until the end of July. If you have not been contacted by the Trust by the end of July, you should assume that your funding application has not been successful.
