About

The Aker Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters and PhD applicants from Norway or with a strong link to Norway. The scholarship is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and in any subject.

This fund is offered in partnership with Anne Grete Eidsvig and Kjell Inge Røkkes Charitable Foundation for Education, Norway.

Please note, you must apply via an external application to the funding partner as well as opting into this fund in the funding section of the Cambridge admissions application in order to be considered.

An economy airfare to the UK at the start of study, and an economy airfare from the UK to the student's country of residence at the end of study, by the lowest cost available route.

PhD only: Trust scholarships do not automatically fund the optional PhD writing-up period. The Trust may, on application, provide up to a further 6 months of maintenance to support writing up.

Key dates

To ensure that they are considered for this scholarship, applicants must: 1) apply direct to the Aker Scholarship in the year before that in which they wish to start their studies in Cambridge; and 2) apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory).

The Trust’s awards period runs from the beginning of March to the end of July and is an ongoing process throughout that period. We aim to make our awards as early as possible, but some of our partner funded awards can take time, and sometimes when offers are declined we may be able to offer them elsewhere. Applicants will remain under consideration until the end of the awards period. We are not able to contact unsuccessful applicants. If you have not been contacted by the Trust by the end of the awards period, you should assume that your application has not been successful.
